In the language of astrology, Venus and Mars describe a primary duality of this dimensional reality. Venus is yin, feminine, receptive. Mars is yang, masculine, active. In our psyche, they are meant to work together. Venus determines what we want to receive – what we value - and Mars goes out to get it.
Two things happened at the beginning of February. 1) Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, moved onto the degree that it occupied when the United States was born. This is the US Pluto Return, and it will continue over the next two years. 2) Venus and Mars conjoined in Capricorn. At the end of February, these two will align with Pluto. In early March, they will together enter Aquarius. Capricorn refers to the structure of society, it’s rules and the forces that uphold them. Aquarius refers to the collective itself, the substance that Capricorn structure protects.
The US Pluto return describes a collective journey through the Underworld - a Dark Night of the Soul. There is danger on this journey; the Underworld is a fearsome place. And as we enter this darkness, we have an encouraging message from the Queen and her Warrior. These polarities have come together, reminding us that manifestation of our values requires that the opposites work together. This is a central tenet of duality: creation in this dimension requires an interactive relationship between opposite forces.
When asked to describe what we value, many of us think of the people, animals, and places we love. What do you want to receive, for yourself and these precious beings and places? Act in accordance with this vision. And remember, all action must be directed by love. The Queen decides, the Warrior acts. This is the message of this Venus/Mars conjunction. All action must be inspired by love.
