Solstice, Jupiter turns Retrograde, and Sun in Cancer
June 20, 2021. The Solstice – Summer in the Northern Hemisphere; Winter in the Southern Hemisphere - represents a body-felt experience of duality. We’ve gone as far as we can in one direction; now it is time to turn around and slowly make our way back to where we began. While our personal journey is defined by where we live on Earth, the symbolic meaning is the same regardless of where we are. It is only when we back up and see the entire spectrum of dark and light that we understand the whole.
At this Solstice, the Sun enters the water sign Cancer. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Cancer is aligned with Nut and Geb, the Divine Parents. Nut is the Sky Goddess; Geb is the Earth God. Through their great love for each other, these two create a sacred container for all life on Earth. While these two are in eternal opposition to each other, in truth they are a whole. We cannot survive without them both.
On this Solstice Day, Jupiter - the principle of expansion - is stationary and will turn retrograde. Horus, the Young King, is strong. Everything is expanded – both the “bad” and the “good.” Mercury -Thoth the Sacred Scribe - is also slowing to station, turning direct on June 22 in a square to stationary Neptune/Nephthys – Keeper of the Mysteries Behind the Veils. There is both confusion and magic and - nothing is as it seems. Neptune/Nephthys will turn retrograde on June 25. This will be an interesting week – expect information to emerge from the mist that is surprising and will speak to some area of mystery in your life. Stay open to the possibilities.
All of this takes place against the backdrop of the on-going square between Saturn/Sobek and Uranus/Wadjet. The birth of a New Age continues and we are all midwives.
