Sun in Aquarius

Aquarius is the point on the astrological wheel where the individual components of society are merged into a collective. Aquarius is the ruler of technology, the driver of our current experience of collective merging. Since the discovery in 1781 of the ruler of Aquarius - Uranus – technological advances have connected our planet in amazing ways. This has proved challenging; we Earthlings struggle to operate in harmony. Human cooperation is required to stave off an extinction brought on by technologies that also unite us. Aquarian issues will be at the forefront of our collective consciousness in 2023/24 as Pluto, associated with death, rebirth and transformation, begins in June a two-year transition into Aquarius.

Aquarian natives are group-oriented visionaries with their eyes on the horizon. They can be found working on teams dedicated to a common cause, often in the fields of science or technology. Emotional expression is not their forte and intimacy can be challenging. These personalities are uniquely built for the Aquarian Age, as we move into a highly technological future.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Aquarius is allied with the creator god Ptah. Like the Aquarian personality, Ptah is focused on the big picture; he is the creator of Heaven and Earth. Ptah creates with his words, and it is said that his tongue is connected to his heart. In this metaphor we find both a warning and an inspiration for the future. The potential of human creativity is vast and it is within our capacity to build a world that is both technologically advanced and supportive of life. And everything we create must be inspired by love; if not, we risk causing pain and destruction.

The Sun will emanate through Aquarius/Ptah from January 20 to February 18.
