Venus and Mars Enter Aquarius

At the December 2020 Solstice, Jupiter and Saturn entered the air sign Aquarius in a tight conjunction. Last night (US time zones), Venus and Mars followed their path, entering Aquarius together after a month-long conjunction in earthy Capricorn.

The last three months have provided an echo of the 2020 Great Shift Alignment of Saturn, Pluto, and Jupiter in Capricorn. This echo brought us the Omicron surge as well as the buildup and invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The out picturing of the Great Shift Alignment has been the ongoing dismantling of the established structure of global society.

In astrological terms, we can consider this to be a rapid vault into the much-lauded Age of Aquarius. The Age of Pisces has been the age of the King, Priest and Guru. Sacred information was passed from the Divine to select individuals who maintained power in society. The Age of Aquarius is the age of the Collective. Individuals will work together to create a society that honors and supports the rights and needs of the individual while simultaneously honoring and supporting the rights and needs of the collective.

It would be wonderful if this could happen magically, without strife and discord, but it will not. In order for a united planetary consciousness to emerge, the systems that support competition and division must die. The individuals who rely on those competitive systems for their power will resist.

This war in Ukraine is a turning point, not just because it is in Europe and is going to make white, primarily Christian people’s lives much more difficult. Dark skinned people have been suffering under the inequity of our competitive, power-driven system for centuries. It is a turning point because the global structure – our planetary reality construct – is about to die and that is not going to be an easy process for anyone. Next year, in 2023, Pluto – Lord of the Underworld, God of Death and Rebirth – will begin a two-year transit of the 0 degree of Aquarius. The shadow side of Aquarius – authoritarianism and autocratic leadership – will attempt to turn back the tide. They may win in the short term but over the long picture, they will not. We are One Planet. When we embrace this truth and create cooperative systems that support diversity and individuality, we will thrive.
