A Peek at 2024

2024 will be a different kind of year. After years of domination by constraining Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto move to center stage. Pluto is a big archetype, feared by many. Pluto is Lord of the Underworld, God of Death and Rebirth. Jupiter is the Principle of Expansion. Together these two will move us in a new direction.

Pluto: 2024 will bring the completion of Pluto’s two-year transition into Aquarius after 15 years in Capricorn. This transition began in 2023 with a brief foray of Pluto into Aquarius from late March through mid-June. While Capricorn addresses the structure of society, Aquarius rules science and technology and is the symbol of revolutionary ideas that change the nature of the collective.

Pluto enters Aquarius on January 21 and will return to Capricorn for a final time from September 1 through November 19. (It is worth noting that the US Presidential election is November 5.) Pluto will then remain in Aquarius until 2044.

Jupiter: In late March, Jupiter will move into a conjunction with Uranus, exact on April 20. This conjunction has been foreshadowed since August 2023.

April will be a big month. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius so expect news of technological advancements with far-reaching effects. The conjunction is in Taurus. There may be shattering Earth events (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, weather-related events, and disruptions in financial markets.) When Uranus is involved, expect the unexpected.

Jupiter will move into Gemini on May 25, then will form exact squares to Saturn on August 19 and December 24. This is a power struggle between the forces of expansion and contraction. This cycle will remain in effect until June 2025.

Events will move fast in 2024. After several years of contraction, new energy is ready to break through. The battle is not over, but the tide is turning. Not all will be what we expect or want. A simple description for this year: “Death and rebirth expands.” Change will happen.
