Gemini, first air sign of the Zodiac, is ruled by Mercury and defined by curiosity. These natives function as the astrological jack of all trades. They get bored easily and crave variety; hence their reputation for being easily distracted. They are sensitive to external stimuli and can become mentally overwhelmed. They are being invited to the dance of life and learning to move with the flow is an important part of their experience.

In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Gemini is allied with the Great Sphinx of Egypt. The symbolism of the Sphinx revolves around the bringing together of two very different beings. This is a comment on the nature of duality, the defining aspect of this dimensional reality. We humans are a synthesis of logic and emotions, expressed in the Great Sphinx as a merger of human and animal. The relationship between our emotions and our mind is a driving force for us, both within ourselves and in relationship with others.

The Great Sphinx of Giza - a huge statue of a four-legged animal with the head of a human – is an Earth Altar. The purpose of an altar is to draw down energy from Divine Source and disseminate it across the surface of the Earth. Those with Gemini strong in their personalities are meant to be human Earth Altars, drawing down Divine inspiration which they then express through writing, teaching, and creativity. Sometimes the signal is weak or distorted by static. Their task, when that happens, is to move to a better place for receiving. Stretch up to the Heavens, Gemini being, and if your signal is not clear, move somewhere else. But remember, what you receive is not meant for you alone. Find a way to share the information with others. You are meant to be a channel on Earth for the Divine.

The Sun will emanate through Gemini/The Sphinx from May 20 to June 21.
