In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Uranus is allied with Wadjet, the Cobra Goddess. Wadjet is The Shatterer, the Kundalini Queen. Her sensual, sexual, life-giving energy works its way up our spine and breaks through blocks to the flow of life force energy.
Wadjet and Uranus share a common descriptor; both are known as The Great Awakener. Uranus is the first of the Generational Planets – Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. These planets are reflectors of generational change. These three describe the planetary shifts that occur as each new generation is born, comes to maturity, and then passes on.
In old time astrology, Saturn was the last of the planets used in astrological charts. Uranus was discovered in 1781 and was assigned rulership of Aquarius. It took a product of Aquarius – a telescope – to find Uranus. The discovery of Uranus initiated the pre-dawn of the Aquarian Age. Aquarius is associated with revolutionary events that change the world; the discovery of Uranus paralleled the American, French, and Industrial Revolutions.
Uranus/Wadjet is about breakthroughs to a new way of being and stations of this planet are often marked by intense and explosive events. Something is ready to be shattered. These breakthroughs can be destructive, exhilarating, or illuminating. Whatever manifests, it will change our reality construct.
This Uranus direct period will include a conjunction to expansive Jupiter in April. Uranus and Jupiter have been dancing with each other since September. The unpredictable energy of Uranus/Wadjet will be intensified during this conjunction. As always with Uranus, expect the unexpected.
Uranus/Wadjet will remain direct from January 27 to September 1 – on that day Pluto re-enters Capricorn for the final time.
