Aquarius Full Moon

August 3, 2020 – Full Moon at Aquarius 11°46’, 11:59 am EDT.

The keyword for this Moon cycle is Oppression. The July 20 Cancer New Moon initiated our current phase through an opposition to Saturn, the principle of restriction. This Full Moon features an opposition between Saturn and Mercury, the planet of communication.

Saturn is the astrological symbol most associated with The Patriarchy. The Patriarchy is a belief system that overvalues action and undervalues receptivity, thereby creating a destructive societal imbalance. This imbalance has been the dominant collective structure on Earth for thousands of years. The 2020 Great Shift alignment of Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) is the astrological indicator of a major step toward the dismantling of this outmoded system.

This Full Moon window also brings a harbinger of what is yet to come. The Full Moon opposition is in a tight square with Uranus. The Great Shift alignment will dissolve at the end of the year, to be replaced by a yearlong battle between Saturn – Sobek the Old King – and Uranus – Wadjet, the Kundalini Cobra. The birth of the New Era will be preceded by the energetic chaos that accompanies the emergence of new life.

With this Full Moon Window, Warrior Mars moves into a square with Jupiter, initiating a four-month challenging relationship between the Warrior King Set and The Great Shift planets. In Egyptian Myth, Set (Mars) kills his brother Osiris (Pluto), prompting a centuries long battle with his nephew Horus (Jupiter). The New King Horus wins this battle.

To adapt this symbolism to our current experience, the death of our existing societal container will initiate a battle between the old order and the new vision. It will take time but the new energy will win. Do not lose faith. New life always wins.
