Full Moon in Aquarius

July 29, 2026:  Full Moon at Aquarius 6°30’, 10:36 am EDT.

This Full Moon opposition is in a tight relationship with Jupiter opposite Pluto, a defining aspect of the still-in-effect Basket Pattern. The Sun is aligned with Jupiter; Pluto with the Moon. Both ends of this opposition are in a loose square to Chiron (a T-square).

Jupiter/Pluto transits are always difficult. Jupiter expands anything it aspects; Pluto is an inherently explosive energy – so guess what is being expanded? Chiron points to the core wound. This T-square suggests that our collective penchant for explosive responses needs to be healed.

Three of the planets involved in the Basket Pattern are Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These three are symbolic of the modern age. They cannot be seen with the naked eye; therefore, the ancients did not know of their existence.

These three are transformational by definition. Uranus – unpredictable, shattering change. Neptune – slow, gradual but immutable change. Pluto – violent, explosive change. Kill off the old, clear the decks, make way for something new.

At this Full Moon, there is an exact square between Venus and Mars. These two are part of the social triad (with Mercury) and refer to forces that operate within our individual psyches. Venus is receptivity; Mars is action. A square between these two suggests a disconnect between what we want to receive and what we get. The end result is frustration – we’re not getting what we want, no matter how hard we try.

The first step in healing is acknowledging the problem. Denial does not lead to healing, just to avoidance. At this Full Moon Window, meditate on how this works in your own life. What are you not receiving that you want? And take note: this is the last Moon phase before the next eclipse portal, which begins August 12. Something new is waiting to happen.
