Jupiter conjunct Uranus

Approximately every 14 years, Jupiter moves through a conjunction to Uranus. In traditional astrology, Jupiter is the principle of expansion; when conjunct, Jupiter expands the effect of another planet. Uranus is one of the three generational planets, all symbols of change. Uranian change is sudden, unpredictable, and chaotic.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Jupiter is allied with Horus, the Young King. Uranus is Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Goddess. The sensuous and intense energy of Wadjet is amplified by wildly exuberant Horus.

This conjunction is in Taurus. This earth sign describes the grounding of life force energy in form. Taurus energy is sensuous, centered, and determined. In Egyptian myth, this is Hathor, the original Earth Goddess. Hathor’s message is that in this dimensional reality, enlightenment is found through being fully embodied. “Come on down,” Hathor tells us. “Experience both the pleasure and the pain of being in form.”

In September, Jupiter turned retrograde within 8 degrees of Uranus. They then separated out of relationship and have now come back into alignment. The exact conjunction will take place on April 20/21 on the 21st degree of Taurus.

Uranus entered Taurus in May 2018. This transit has expressed via an increased awareness of matters related to the right use of resources – our bodies, money, and our collective relationship to the Earth. The defining characteristic of Uranus is unpredictability, and the waxing conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in April may bring chaotic and destructive experiences. Uranus is also associated with breakthroughs that expand our perspective and ultimately change our lives. Whatever happens, it will be a wild ride so button up and buckle down. Expect the unexpected.
