Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse

August 12, 2026:  New Moon Solar Eclipse at Leo 20°02’, 1:37 pm EDT.

Eclipses function as thresholds between one level of consciousness to another. This Solar Eclipse is particularly potent. Featured are three Easy Trines linking five points of a 6-pointed star. The planets involved are Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Mercury, and Venus with the open spot at Sagittarius 3 to 5 degrees.

Central to this pattern are two oppositions: Mercury/Jupiter opposite Pluto and Venus opposite Neptune. Both oppositions are part of T-squares; Mercury opposite Pluto is square to Chiron and Venus opposite Neptune is square to Mars. These two oppositions form the backbone of a Mystic Rectangle – another powerful configuration.

The Eclipse moves along a narrow band of totality stretching from the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, and Northern Spain. Much of Europe, northwestern Africa, parts of Canada and the northern United States will see a Partial Solar Eclipse.

This Solar Eclipse comes on the heels of the Lion’s Gate portal. The Lion’s Gate occupies an important place in our collective consciousness. It is associated with Sirius and Regulus; bright stars tracked by cultures for centuries. Many believe that cosmic wisdom is being downloaded to us at this time, positioning us on the cusp of huge transformational change. Collective belief is powerful and affects individual perspective.

The two weeks between eclipses serve as a portal between one phase of experience and another. The Solar Eclipse will be followed by a Partial Lunar Eclipse on August 27/28. The time between these two cosmic events provides an opportunity to release anything you do not want to take with you into the next period (August 28 to February 6). Walk through the next two weeks with intention and conscious awareness of what you are releasing.
