Today - January 26, 2026 - Neptune completes its 14-year transit of Pisces, a transition that began ten months ago. Dreamy, mystical Pisces was a natural fit for Neptune. Neptune represents cosmic consciousness, intuition, imagination, and creativity. In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Neptune is allied with Nephthys, Keeper of the Mysteries Behind the Veils. Nephthys is a lunar goddess, twin sister of Isis. She is the hidden goddess of the night, sometimes called the “Veiled Isis.”
Neptune/Nephthys is one of the Generational Planets, along with Uranus and Pluto. These three describe changes that manifest over time as new generations emerge. This last 14-year period – from 2011/12 to 2026 – has been marked by a deterioration of our perception of reality. There is confusion over what is real and what is fake.
Neptune in Aries is going to be very different. Aries is the beginning of a new cycle – new experiences, new energy, a new path. Neptune in Aries will manifest as excitement over a new dream, much as expectant parents fantasize about who their child will be. Aries is allied with Kephera, the morning sun. Every day is a new beginning, full of both potential and uncertainty.
Everything also has its shadow. The shadow of Neptune in Aries will revolve around the Warrior. Aries is the Greek name for the God of War – Mars to the Romans. Aries/Mars is a cruel and brutal archetype, a god who revels in bloodlust. By contrast, Kephera is both nurturer and protector of new life.
Neptune’s cycle around the Sun lasts 165 years. Neptune was last in Aries from 1861 – 1875, parallelling the American Civil War and the unifications of Italy and Germany. New visions were driving collective endeavors, manifested through the violence of war. And herein lies the rub. Can we do it differently this time?
