Neptune Stationary

Magic, mystery, dreams, and visions – this is the realm of Neptune, an astrological archetype of change that manifests through a gradual dissolution of established reality.

Since 2011, Neptune has been transiting its own sign (Pisces). During this time (ending in 2026), the slow but immutable effect of Neptune has manifested as a dissolving away of the glue that holds society together, expressed outwardly through a persistent questioning of our shared reality.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Neptune is allied with Nephthys, Keeper of the Mysteries Behind the Veils. Nephthys is the twin sister of Isis and is her opposite - Isis is a solar goddess; Nephthys is a lunar goddess. Isis is associated with clear laser vision that cuts to the heart of the matter. Nephthys’ realm is rich with dreams, visions and fleeting glimpses of mysterious beings hidden behind the mists of the underworld.

When an outer planet is stationary, it’s effect is strong. In recent weeks Mars and retrograde Venus have been in relationship to each other and to Neptune, triggering an escalation in confusion on a collective level. Now both Neptune and Venus are stationary, increasing our feeling of disorientation.

The station of these two occurs while we are in the portal between the worlds – the month spanning three eclipses. This passage between one phase of experience to another is an underworld journey through Nephthys’ realm. This is a time to dream, vision and listen. Over the next few days, call upon Nephthys and ask for her guidance. The Keeper of the Mysteries will whisper words your ears do not recognize, but your heart will understand.

Nephthys turns retrograde the night of June 22/23.
