Sagittarius Full Moon

June 3, 2023 – Full Moon at Sagittarius 13°18’, 11:42 pm EDT.

The primary significator of this Full Moon is the same as the May 19 Taurus New Moon: Pluto. At the New Moon, Pluto was in a tight square with Jupiter; Mars at the end of Cancer formed a t-square with Jupiter and Pluto. The Jupiter/Pluto square is now waning but still in effect, and Venus has taken Mars’ place in late Cancer.

Pluto: planet of death, rebirth, and transformation; Osiris in the Egyptian pantheon. Jupiter: expansion; allied with Horus. Venus and Mars: the yin/yang polarity; receptivity vs action; Isis and Set.

The astrological read? Over the last two weeks a clash between values and action has intensified, cast against the backdrop of huge transformational change. Well, what else is new?

This archetypal story is played out collectively in obvious ways (the many ways we seem to be hurtling toward disaster) and is expressed in each of our lives in a uniquely personal way. This is where our focus needs to be.

Sagittarius is a Warrior sign. This is the individual who dedicates their life to a cause. In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, this is Sekhmet, the goddess who creates change through disaster. Often depicted as a woman with the head of a lion, Sekhmet is associated with all of the big cats (lion, tiger, panther, jaguar). In traditional Egyptian myth, this is the goddess of drought, pestilence, and famine. In a more modern interpretation, Sekhmet is Fierce Compassion and the passionate voice of action and change.

During this Full Moon window, take time to connect with your passion and feel the internal pull toward action that will support you in becoming a catalyst for change. Confront your inner doubts and align with Sekhmet, the fierce yet compassionate goddess of transformation.
