Taurus Full Moon & Mercury Retrograde
October 26, 2026: Full Moon at Taurus 2°46’, 12:12 am EDT, & Mercury Retrograde.
This wild Full Moon swells to its crescendo at the beginning of an intense Scorpio season. The Taurus Moon is conjunct to Chiron – the Wounded Healer. The Scorpio Sun is conjunct retrograde Venus, which re-enters Libra on October 25. The Full Moon forms a T-square – a challenging pattern - with Pluto.
Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio. In Greek and Roman myth, he is the God of Death. The Underworld is a land of shadows where deceased souls wander endlessly. Pluto is the ruler of this land and he is a fearsome figure; cruel and unyielding.
In Egyptian myth, this is Osiris, the Lord of Regeneration. Osiris is killed by his brother Set. Out of his death, a new King – Horus – is born. Osiris symbolizes the idea that in order for there to be something new, the old must die.
Pluto recently turned direct (October 15) and is still virtually stationary. When Pluto is stationary, its influence is strong. This emphasis on both Scorpio and Pluto makes for a particularly intense Full Moon Window.
Mercury – Hermes to the Greeks and Thoth to the Egyptians – turned retrograde October 24. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio invites us to dive deep. This is The Investigator, searching for deeper meaning.
With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, feelings of being stuck are amplified. Venus is about values; Mercury refers to our thinking process. The best use of this time is to consider your values. Are you manifesting what you value? As unacknowledged truths surface, ask yourself: What have I been avoiding? What have I refused to see?
Is something dying in your life? Hold that death with love, and know that out of the ashes, something new will be born. Do not turn away.
Mercury and Venus will both turn direct on November 13.
