Uranus Stationary, turning Retrograde

Uranus is about change. Uranian change is sudden, unpredictable, and often dramatic. This is earthquakes, eruptions, ah ha moments, and synchronous connections kind of change.

A planet’s expression is strong when it is stationary; retrograde motion provides a chance to re-visit something related to the archetypal meaning of the planet involved. In this case, we are invited to examine the question of planetary change.

This Uranus retrograde period takes place in a loose alignment with Jupiter, the principle of expansion. Jupiter is expanding the energy of Uranus. Both are in Taurus - the earthiest of earth signs. Taurus is allied with Hathor, the Great Goddess. Taurus/Hathor is about embodiment - our physical forms and the connection of these forms to planet Earth.

In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Uranus is allied with Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Goddess, Wadjet strikes fast and hard, shattering blocks to the free flow of life force energy. Uranus is The Great Awakener. Wadjet is The Shatterer. Jupiter is Horus, the Young King.

The exact conjunction of Uranus and Jupiter will be brief (April 2024), but this alignment will have a strong effect from now through next May. The theme presented is simple and stark: Can we survive? Taurus is the sign of resources – money, our bodies, talents, our home, and our planet. Most people are ready to acknowledge that Earth is in trouble. Wadjet is shattering our illusions. The veil is falling from our eyes and we are waking up to the obvious. Now we’ll see if we’re willing to do anything about it.

Uranus/Wadjet will be retrograde in Taurus/Hathor from August 28, 2023, to January 27, 2024. Jupiter/Horus is coming to station and will turn retrograde on September 4.
