Venus and Mars

In traditional astrology, Venus describes what we want to receive. Mars is the action we take to manifest that which we value. These two are meant to operate as a team. Their relationship in our astrological chart describes how effective we are at manifesting the experiences we most want to receive.

Some of us attract experiences that are at cross purposes with our values. When this happens, there is a disconnect between what we want to receive and what we manifest. Venus and Mars are not communicating.

Right now, Venus is retrograde in Gemini and Mars is in Pisces. These are mutable signs – both flexible and fluid but at home in different realms. Gemini is an air sign; Venus in Gemini is most happy when engaged in a multi-faceted dance of ideas. Pisces is a water sign and longs for deep emotional interconnection.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Venus is Isis, Queen Mother of Heaven. Mars is Set, the Warrior King. Gemini is allied with The Sphinx – the Earth Altar. Pisces is allied with Sothis, The Bodhisattva. Isis in the emanation of The Sphinx (Venus in Gemini) longs to serve as a bridge between Gaia and the Great Star Nations. Set in the emanation of Sothis (Mars in Pisces) is the Spiritual Warrior in service to our planet.

From our Earth-bound perspective, these two are woefully out of sync. The current barrage of conflicting words and ideas triggers a flood of emotions ranging from disappointment and grief to anger and rage. There is a solution to this roller coaster of thoughts and feelings. Call upon your Bodhisattva Warrior. His open and compassionate heart will provide a safe container from which you will be able to listen and engage with curiosity and an open mind. Although it may be hard to see, everyone has a Sacred Point of View.
