Aquarius Full Moon

Full Moon at Aquarius 1°26’, 10:37 pm EDT.

We have two Aquarius Full Moons over the next month, the second on August 22 at Aquarius 29°37’. Both these Full Moons take place against the backdrop of the on-going square between Saturn and Uranus, ruler of Aquarius.

Whenever Aquarian energy is strong on our planet, we are invited to think of the movement of our planet out of the Piscean Age into the Age of Aquarius. We’ve been immersed in the Pisces experience for centuries - astrological ages last 2600 years. The Piscean Age is defined by the concept of disintegration; the Aquarian Age will be defined by collectivization. While this shift between ages will take centuries to complete, the Aquarian energy is becoming progressively stronger. If we do not begin to act in accordance with this new paradigm and embrace the truth that we are one planet occupied by a multitude of interdependent tribes, we will not survive.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Aquarius is allied with Ptah, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Ptah’s creation process involves the thoughts that he thinks and the words that he speaks. These thoughts and words are connected to his heart. This metaphor describes a most important concept – that our world is a reflection of the heart of its Creator, and that this heart is infused with Love.

This first Aquarian Full Moon is dominated by a conjunction with Pluto/Osiris, Lord of Regeneration, God of Death and Rebirth. This window between two ages can be thought of as a very long birth canal, which is also a death canal. The birth of the Age of Aquarius is occurring simultaneously with the death of the Age of Pisces. For the foreseeable future, this dance between death and birth will continue to provide the contextual framework for our lives.
