May 26, 2025: New Moon at Gemini 6°06’, 11:02 pm EDT.
This New Moon brings a wealth of harmonious energy cast against the backdrop of some very challenging transits. Let’s start with the challenges: Jupiter is moving into the last of three squares to Saturn, exact on June 15; and Saturn is conjunct to Neptune in Aries.
The Jupiter/Saturn square is the completion of a transit that began last summer. The principle of expansion is challenging, and being challenged by, the principle of contraction. We push out as something simultaneously pushes back. Frustrating, to say the least.
The Saturn/Neptune conjunction is particularly difficult, and its impact has increased over the last few weeks. The sign of this conjunction – Aries - is associated with the emergence of something new. A new phase requires structure in order to manifest. Saturn is restricting the emergence of a new structure. Simultaneously, Neptune is dissolving away established structures that are no longer useful, while also inspiring a wild array of imaginative visions, some realistic and some not. This is both frustrating and confusing.
These two transits are transformational over the long term. Against this backdrop we have a lovely array of harmonious transits surrounding the Gemini New Moon. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Gemini are in a trine to Pluto and a sextile to Saturn/Neptune. Venus and Mars (values and action) are trine. These transits will move on quickly – their influence will be felt during the window of the New Moon. Their energy is light and happy, casting a spell of hope over this time.
During this Dark Moon (May 25, 26, 27), call upon the magic of Hummingbird. Be flexible and fluid and cultivate curiosity. Don’t be afraid to flit off to the next beautiful thing you see. Light, love, and happiness are all around you, even in the most challenging of times. Enjoy.
