Sagittarius New Moon

December 19, 2025:  New Moon at Sagittarius 28°24’, 8:43 pm EST

This New Moon chart features a striking alignment of Venus with the Sun/Moon conjunction, with all three square to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. The Sun/Moon conjunction is also aligned with Mars in Capricorn.

Warrior energy is strong. Fiery Sagittarius – Sekhmet in the Egyptian pantheon - speaks to a passionate commitment to a cause. Venus (Isis) and Mars (Set) aligned with the New Moon refers to the dynamic relationship between values and manifestation. Venus describes what we want to receive; Warrior Mars is the creative energy needed to manifest our values. The shadow side of Sagittarius tells us what can happen when the values of individuals or groups are in conflict: single-minded zealotry that can lead to violence and even war.

The Saturn/Neptune conjunction continues to deeply affect us. Our dreams are strong but the ability to create the structures to contain these visions remains difficult to manifest. Saturn aligned with Neptune is a frustrating aspect. This is an energy that began for us last spring and remains very present in our personal and collective psyches. At this Dark Moon we find this aspect expressed through the realm of war. There is danger here.

Venus and Mars – values and the actions that must be taken to manifest those values – will remain in a tight relationship to the Sun over the next two weeks as we move from the New Moon to the Full Moon. The question of structure will continue to be prominent. Do we have the needed containers to manifest our passion? And – if not – how can we create the necessary structures to support our dreams and values?
