Jupiter enters Cancer

In traditional astrology, Jupiter is the principle of expansion. In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Jupiter is The Young King Horus, son of Osiris and Isis and inheritor of the crown. Horus is the initiator of the New Aeon, birthed out of the death of the old. New energy is inherently energetic and often chaotic; a quality associated with The Young King.
Cancer is a water sign, associated with emotional sensitivity and ruler of the family, motherhood, and nurturing. In Egyptian myth, Cancer is associated with Nut and Geb, the Divine Parents. Nut is the Sky Goddess and Geb is the Earth God. Together these two create the biosphere – the container of Earth and Sky – that is home to us all. The signs of the zodiac build on one another and Cancer is the place of integration of spirit (Aries), form (Taurus), and mind (Gemini) that produces the unity of the individual (Leo).
As Jupiter transits Cancer, we can expect all things associated with this sign to be expanded. Much about this will be positive – empathy and compassion will be more accessible for many people. And difficult emotions will also be stronger. The shadow side of Cancer is a tendency to be overly sensitive, defensive, and emotionally out of control.
Jupiter stays in a sign of the zodiac for approximately one year. Jupiter/Horus has been in the air sign Gemini since May 2024 and crosses over into Cancer today. The Young King’s entry into Cancer is particularly dramatic. Jupiter is in a conjunction to Mercury, and both are in a tight square to the Saturn/Neptune alignment. Emotions run high and confusion is rampant.
Jupiter/Horus enters the emanation of Cancer/Nut and Geb on June 9 at 5:02 pm EDT, where it will remain until June 30, 2026.
