This is such a confusing time – a mix of hope for healing and violent eruptions from the deep subconscious. The volatility is out pictured by the recent incidents of mass murder committed by young men. The Warrior run amok is an expression of wounded yang energy, regardless of gender. Aries, ruled by Mars, is the sign of the Warrior. The Egyptian ally of Mars is Set, a complicated blend of loyal protector and rageful perpetrator. The unpredictability of this archetype is frightening.
This volatility is astrologically expressed by the ongoing square between Saturn and Uranus. Resolution of this square can be achieved by finding the pressure valve and releasing the intensity in a healthy way. To pretend the internal pressure isn’t building will lead to a denial that is destructive to ourselves and others.
This Full Moon is dominated by a striking same-degree conjunction between The Sun, Venus, and Chiron in Aries. This Warrior wants to heal. The opposite of this Aries conjunction is the Moon in Libra - an emotional need to be in relationship. We must get out of our one-sided perspective and open to how others are thinking, feeling, and perceiving. We must see the whole story so we can we find understanding and compassion for others.
In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology Libra is allied with Ma’at, the Goddess associated with Truth, Balance and Justice. Her symbol is the scales – the symbol also associated with the sign Libra. This is about balancing one truth against another and being able to see the whole picture, not just our side. Only when we are able to do this can we find a true resolution of the opposites.
