Saturn Stationary

No one likes to feel confined or trapped. When Saturn, the principle of restriction, shows up strong, we find ourselves constrained in some area of life. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Saturn is Sobek, the Old King, and his totem is the Crocodile. In our psyche, this is our reptilian brain, the part of us that is focused on survival. Sobek’s intent is to resist change - he hangs on long and hard. We may realize that something in our life no longer serves us but we don’t have the oomph to break out. We stay put, even though we feel stuck and even trapped.

This Saturn station comes on the heels of a Pluto station, providing an echo of the dominating influence of 2020 – the Jupiter/Pluto/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. The archetypal intention of the Great Shift alignment was to dismantle the existing structure of society. This station of Saturn can be considered the last hurrah of that hugely transformative transit and our present energetic field is similar.

This moment is reminiscent of last year with one important difference. This year is dominated by the on-going square of Saturn and Uranus, the Great Awakener. While Saturn/Sobek continues to hold the form, the shattering force of Uranus – Wadjet, the Kundalini Cobra - has awakened. The life force held within the container is stronger. It is building strength, preparing to break out and many of you feel this within your own lives. This is a long and arduous birth process, at both the personal and collective levels. The container is weakening, which means that the chaos of birth is closer.

Saturn/Sobek turns direct on October 10 at 10:17 pm, EDT.
