Saturn, Uranus, and 2021

Updated: Mar 7, 2021

Now that our collective “annus horribilis” is behind us, we may want to believe that the awfulness is over and we’re entering the magic of the Aquarian Age. Well, yes, that can happen. And there’s still a lot to deal with.

The last two years have been dominated by the Saturn/Pluto conjunction with 2020 bringing the Great Shift Alignment (Saturn/Pluto/Jupiter) in Capricorn. As I have said more times than I can count, 2020 was about the dismantling of established structures. Check. That’s done.

Now we enter the exhilarating, explosive, revolutionary, destructive, and creative energies of Saturn and Uranus. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Saturn is our old friend Sobek, the Old King. He hasn’t left the party and he’s stronger than ever. Now we’ll add Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Queen, to the mix.

The Saturn/Uranus cycle lasts for approximately 45 years. Our current cycle began in 1988/89 and will end in 2032. Over the next two years, these two will be in a waning square – a challenging relationship.

Saturn gives form. Uranus blows it apart. Uranus brings revolution. Saturn represses. Explosive change takes form. Revolutions are repressed. Over the next two years there will be new ideas and breakthroughs in science, technology, and creative thought. And there will be resistance.

Let’s remember the intention of The Great Shift Alignment: to initiate a foundational change in our collective planetary structure. Unavoidable challenge: we do not agree on what the new structure will be. There will be disagreements about how to proceed; some of these arguments will be volatile. Transformation is messy.

Saturn and Uranus will come into exact square three times this year: February 17, June 15, and December 24.
