May 12, 2025:  Full Moon at Scorpio 22°13’, 12:56 pm EDT.

The annual Scorpio Full Moon is an invitation - sometimes masquerading as a hijacking – to Pluto’s realm to commune with the shades wandering endlessly through shadow and mist. This Full Moon window inevitably brings challenge and intensity.

This year, the Sun is aligned with Uranus, planet of chaos and unpredictability. Mercury in Taurus is in a tight square with Pluto and a looser square with Mars, which is finally completing its opposition (begun last October) to Pluto. We are being challenged by circumstances. Invited to fully understand what has happened since last October, and to define our personal role in the huge shift that is transforming our planet. The nature of our role varies and is defined by our individual proclivities and alignments.

Jupiter and Saturn are back in square; a tense planetary relationship that began last summer. At present, these two remain in mutable signs – Jupiter in Gemini; Saturn in Pisces. When they come into their final exact square on June 15, they will be in cardinal signs – Cancer and Aries respectively. Think of this as the due date for something that has been gestating since last summer.

Scorpio is known for its investigative abilities and its awareness of the known yet unseen. In the Egyptian pantheon, Scorpio is allied with Bast, the Priestess who stands at the portal between death and birth. It is a given that out of death comes new life. The difficulty lies not with the birth of something new, but rather the death of the familiar. In this Full Moon chart, the Moon is the focal point of a Yode pattern, sometimes called the Finger of God. Diving deep and confronting our fears is the assignment. Only by walking through our fear can we reach the other side.
