In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, the fire sign Sagittarius is allied with Sekhmet, an ancient goddess personifying the Warrior Feminine. Originally, Sekhmet was associated with Hathor, the Egyptian goddess representing the Generative Feminine. The two were one being - Sekhmet-Hathor; also known as the Eye of Ra, deliverer of the wrath and vengeance of the creator god Ra.

One day, the Eye of Ra became angry. She left Ra’s presence and, in her form as a Lioness, roamed alone through the desert. Ra sent emissaries to find her, eager for her return. She refused them all. Eventually Thoth convinced her to return. He promised her temples and festivals in her honor. There would be music, drunkenness, and sex in the streets. Sekhmet agreed to return. She returned in her form as Hathor; the cow who represents the sensual female. The separation between two aspects of the feminine began: the aggressive warrior and the sensual nurturer.

Sagittarian natives are big personality people. These folks are expansive (Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter) and passionately creative. Sagittarius is the place on the wheel of the Zodiac where the philosophical values of society are defined. Hence, the Sagittarian love of travel and interest in spiritual ideas. Lying in the shadow is a reckless anger that can become destructive.

The keyword for Sekhmet is Fierce Compassion. Like a mother cat, Sagittarians are expansively loving, and the claws will come out when that which they love is threatened. On a collective level, this can manifest as zealotry. This fire sign loves with an intense passion that can transmute into a rage that leaves no room for discussion.

The Sun will emanate in Sagittarius/Sekhmet from November 21 to December 21.
