Sun in Scorpio

Magic and mystery; sensuality and sexuality; passion and intensity; death and rebirth – this is the narrative for those born under the complicated sign of Scorpio. This water sign hears what is not said and sees what is hidden. Born with a built-in bullshit detector, the challenge for these individuals is to learn to trust. Suspicion is in their shadow, born out of a natural ability to discern what is true and what is not. These are the detectives of the Zodiac, eager to press deeper into the mystery to follow the kernels of truth.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Scorpio is allied with Bast, the Cat Goddess. The Priestesses of Bast were the keepers of the tantric mysteries. They were also the midwives to new life; pregnant women would go to the Temple of Bast to give birth. The Priestesses would anoint the bodies of these expectant mothers and surround them with comfort. The intention was to make the birth process a sensual experience. The message is that the passage between the worlds of death and life is rich with both pleasure and pain. Our fear of pain keeps us stuck in a place that no longer serves us. Sensuality simultaneously awakens our longing to press forward and our willingness to die to the stuck place that no longer serves.

Those born under this sign strongly feel the longing that precedes change. The intention of their soul is to find and walk through the portal between life and death – over and over again.

The Sun will remain in the emanation of Scorpio/Bast from October 22/23 to November 21. It’s time to awaken to your longing for change, dive deep into your personal underworld, and emerge renewed.
