Sun in Scorpio

Scorpio natives are passionate, intense, and naturally intuitive. They are born with a built-in bullshit detector. These are the detectives of the Zodiac, diving deep to discover the truth. In relationships, they long to escape the confinement of their own body and merge with the desired one; hence the association of this water sign with sexuality. While Scorpio is comfortable in the underworld realms, hidden in their shadow are wounds that make it difficult to trust. Fear of betrayal and suspicion of others – including the Divine - are often present.
There are three symbols for Scorpio. The first is the Scorpion; when angry with no one to attack, the Scorpion will sting themselves. Next is the Phoenix, the mythical bird that crashes, bursts into flames, and rises anew. The purest expression of Scorpio is the Eagle, no creature flies as high as the Eagle. The range of expression – from destructive to sublime – is characteristic of this sign.
In the Egyptian pantheon, Scorpio is allied with sensual Bast, the Cat Goddess. Warriors came to her temples to receive tantric healing from the trauma of war, and pregnant women came for support in giving birth. The Priestesses of Bast were powerful shamanic practitioners who stood at the portal between birth and death, pleasure and pain.
The Temples of Bast existed well into the Roman occupation of Egypt but were destroyed as Christianity spread. The Priestesses were driven out of the temples; some were raped and even murdered by the same men who came to them for healing. Those carrying Scorpio energy hold a genetic memory of this betrayal. Diving deep to explore and understand is essential for all those with Scorpio in their charts.
The Sun will emanate through Scorpio/Bast from October 22/23 to November 21.
