Venus is values, what we want to receive. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Venus is Isis, Queen Mother of Heaven. Venus in Cancer individuals want to receive the very experience they provide for others – they want to feel held, comforted, loved, and cared for. In their shadow they can be insecure and fearful of change, but in their strength, they are the loving bond of any collection of people and animals who consider themselves as family.
The water sign Cancer is aligned with The Divine Parents, Nut and Geb. These two are among the oldest of the Egyptian archetypes. They are elemental in nature and their myth derives from their great love for each other. They play a central role in the Egyptian creation myth. Their love was so strong that they were inseparable, physically entwined with each other. Shu, the Wind, understood that as long as these two were so interconnected, there would be no sacred container to hold the creatures of Earth. He pushed them apart. Nut became the canopy of the Sky; Geb became the Earth itself. Together they form the biosphere which is the sacred container for all life on Earth.
With this entry of Venus/Isis into the emanation of Cancer/Nut and Geb, the focus will gradually shift toward our emotional desire to feel held, protected and safe. Venus will transit Cancer from June 2nd through the 26th.
