Venus in Gemini

Writer's picture: Ruby FalconerRuby Falconer

From the corner of our eye we see a flash of light pierce the collective density, bringing a glimmer of hope and the promise of new energy. This is the movement of Venus, the principle of receptivity, into the air sign Gemini.

Gemini is the Hummingbird Sign. No one expects a hummingbird to slow down and focus. The delightful nature of Hummingbird is to flit from flower to flower, knowing precisely how much nourishment it needs from a specific bloom before moving on. So too, those with Gemini energy.

The shadow side of Gemini is to be overwhelmed with too much information – a very real consideration during this time of Covid-19 – and with this Venus transit we’ll have plenty of time to experience overwhelm. Venus will turn retrograde and remain in Gemini for two months. Venus retrograde is an invitation to go inward and examine what we want to receive. Venus retrograde in Gemini wants to be lighthearted and carefree. The secret is flexibility – learning to respond to the opportunity of the moment rather than being attached to a specific outcome.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Isis (Venus) is emanating through The Sphinx (Gemini). This is the Great Sphinx of Giza specifically and, in a general sense, all sacred sites. The intention of these structures is to function as Earth Altars, rooted on Earth and energetically reaching up to the Great Star Nations. This transit will remind us to connect with Divine Source while simultaneously dropping our roots deep into the core of Gaia, our home for this time. We are all Earth Altars, transmitters and receivers of information and energy, and we are all invited to The Dance.

Venus/Isis will turn remain in Gemini/The Sphinx until August 7.
