Virgo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

Writer: Ruby FalconerRuby Falconer

March 14, 2025:  Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at Virgo 23°56’, 2:55 am EDT.

As we approach this Virgo Full Moon, we are in the last hours of the eclipse phase that began on October 2. We will soon enter the Eclipse Portal, the two-week period between eclipse phases.

Mars has completed its retrograde journey but is not yet far from its stationary point in Cancer. On March 1, Venus turned retrograde in Aries. Mercury is stationary in Aries and will turn retrograde 24 hours after the Lunar Eclipse very near where Venus turned retrograde. The energy of Aries – The Warrior, desire, new beginnings, combat – is strong.

On March 30, the day after we exit the Eclipse Portal, magical, mystical, confusing Neptune will begin its transition into Aries. This is a huge shift.

In the Egyptian pantheon, Virgo is allied with Nekhbet, the Crone Priestess. Nekhbet is symbolized by the Vulture, purifier of the natural world. Nekhbet is the guardian of the secrets of the temple. Only those doing the work of their soul, purifying their minds and bodies, will be given access to the mysteries.

The first eclipse of the portal functions as an entryway into a tunnel that links two phases of experience. At the entrance we begin to strip away the thoughts, attitudes, perceptions, and actions of the last five months. What do you want to release? What needs to be stripped away?

This Total Lunar Eclipse will be visible in North and South America and western Europe and Africa.
