Jupiter Stationary Direct

In traditional astrology, Jupiter is one end of a polarity with Saturn. Saturn is the principle of constriction while Jupiter is all about expansion. Bigger, brighter, more enthusiastic. People tend to like Jupiter better than Saturn, and what’s not to like? Jupiter is charismatic and expansive, projecting a warmth that is comforting like a roaring fire on a cold winter night.
In Roman myth, Jupiter (Zeus to the Greeks) is King; ruler of Mt. Olympos, the mythical home of the gods. In Egyptian myth, this is Horus, the Young King. All three of these mythic characters are Warriors – as was required of kings in ancient times. If you didn’t have a warrior streak running through your personality you would not keep your throne for long.
When a planet is stationary, it’s influence is strong. The “shock and awe” current attack on Iran by combined US and Israeli forces is reflected in this Jupiter station. The two men at the forefront of this war, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, share commonalities in their two charts. Both have strong natal Jupiters in relationship to Jupiter’s present station. Trump’s Jupiter is in Libra in a square to Jupiter’s current position in Cancer, and Netanyahu’s Capricorn Jupiter is in a loose opposition.
These two men share the same position of Mars (Leo 26°) currently squared by transiting Uranus. Mars is the god of war in Roman myth and Uranus is The Shatterer. A square between these two never bodes well for planetary peace.
The stated reason for this war is safety, a key concern of Jupiter in Cancer, but the hidden story is of two Old Kings exerting their power. It is likely that as Jupiter begins to slowly move out of station over the next week or two, this deathly episode will come to an end. But what a cost to pay.
