Libra Full Moon

April 16, 2022: Full Moon at Libra 26°45’, 2:55 pm EDT.

Libra, the sign of relationships, is defined by a desire for harmony and fairness. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Libra is allied with Ma’at, the neter associated with balance, truth, and justice. Her symbol is a scale, also the symbol for Libra in traditional astrology. Held within the mystery of Ma’at is the message that our focus needs to expand beyond the two sides of the equation. Ma’at invites us to focus on the interaction between opposites. Light, dark, good, bad, bliss, pain - all are part of a spectrum.

This Libra Full Moon involves some very transformative energies. The Aries Sun is in a conjunction with Eris, the Goddess of Strife and Discord. The Full Moon opposition forms a challenging relationship (a T-square) with Pluto - Lord of the Underworld, allied with Osiris, the God of Death and Rebirth. The conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, exact on April 12, is still in effect, expanding our sensation of dissolution. Venus and Mars are now in Pisces and have separated from Saturn, an aspect that was powerful over the last two months. The Saturn/Uranus square is at maximum separation (10°), but it is not over. These two will soon return to a same degree square from August through November.

Most importantly, we are coming to the end of our current eclipse cycle. This phase of experience began on December 4, 2021 and will complete with the April 30 Solar Eclipse. These last 4 ½ months have been dominated by huge planetary changes, the effects of which we are only beginning to understand. While we long for harmony and grace, do not expect to find it at this time. The tides of planetary change are washing over us all. Remember the message of Ma’at and be open to all experience – both that which you like and that which you do not.
