October 16, 2020 – New Moon at Libra 23°53’ at 3:31 pm EDT.
The sign Libra – Ma’at in the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology – is the point on the Wheel when opposing forces are brought into dynamic balance. One force cannot be valued over the other, and one is not diminished in favor of the other. To achieve this, we must be able to simultaneously see both ends of the spectrum, thereby creating a new perception and a new reality.
Linear polarization – seeing only our point of view and considering opposing viewpoints as false and wrong – is the source of conflict and wars. Our collective addiction to this attitude has brought chaos and the threat of extinction. There is an irony here. Polarization is unavoidable. We all have a place on the wheel and there is always an opposite perspective. The challenge is to hold our place – ground ourselves in our values - while simultaneously seeing the whole picture. We must hold our perspective, the opposite point of view, and all the other opposites. It gets complicated.
Relationships are not easy during this Libra season. Eris, goddess of strife and discord, and Mars Retrograde – Set the Warrior King - remain prominent and in challenging relationship to the Great Shift Planets (Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn), and to this Libra New Moon. Mercury (Thoth) is retrograde in Scorpio (Bast) and in opposition to Uranus/Wadjet – the Great Awakener. These are difficult times and the effects of linear polarization are quite evident.
We are experiencing a monumental shift that is shaking us to our core. With time and intention, we will find our way to the new beginning. This Libra Dark Moon window (October 15 – 17) provides an opportunity to contemplate your role in this great adventure.
