February 20th at 1:53 am EST, Saturn and Neptune will exactly conjunct one another at Aries 0°45’. This will be the culmination of an aspect that began in April 2025.
Saturn is the principle of restriction. This is the part of our psyche – the reptilian brain – that fears and resists change. In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Saturn is allied with the crocodile god Sobek, The Old King. Saturn/Sobek can become stifling and oppressive in his quest to protect us from changes that he views as death.
Neptune is associated with magic, mystery, and imagination. In Egyptian myth, this is Nephthys, Keeper of the Mysteries Behind the Veils. Neptune is cosmic consciousness, higher spiritual calling, intuition, imagination. This mysterious energy is also associated with confusion and delusion. When the Lady behind the Veils calls us into the mists, it is hard to know what is real and difficult to trust.
Saturn and Neptune are not natural allies; they struggle against one another. Neptune creates beautiful new visions of change; Saturn resists their implementation. Saturn wants to hold a strong container; Neptune dissolves that container away. They are contradictory energies in relationship with each other. The result is the feeling that our visions are strong but elusive. We feel trapped in oppressive energy that does not support activating our visions.
This exact conjunction occurs while we are in the portal between the Solar and Lunar Eclipses, amplifying its impact. While this aspect is an important marker on the journey of these two, it is not the end of their relationship. Over the next three months, their conjunction will gradually begin to dissipate. In May, they will move out of conjunction and we will finally be free to manifest our dreams.
