Mercury and the Sun enter Capricorn
Updated: Apr 3, 2021
Capricorn energy has dominated 2020. The primary expression of the Capricorn Great Shift Alignment (Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto conjunct) has been the dismantling of collective and personal structures. Our reality has irrevocably changed.
The earth sign Capricorn represents collective structure – the enforcement of societal laws and rules by the police, courts, and government. This is the authority component of society and individuals with strong Capricorn in their chart naturally gravitate to positions of authority. These natives are good at organization, whether it be for companies, groups of people, closets and garages, or packing for a trip.
In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Capricorn is allied with Khnum, creator of the human and non-human animals of Earth. Khnum is a potter and he creates these Earth residents out of clay. Whenever we go through a process of transformation, Khnum invites us back onto his potter’s wheel. He will reinvent us – give us a new form to match our change in substance. This is important – without this reinvention our lives bog down with outmoded constructs that keep us stuck rather than support change.
With the completion of the Great Shift Alignment, we need a new structure that will address our changing needs. As we move into the December 21 Solstice, the solar force of the Sun and the consciousness of Mercury (Amun-Ra and Thoth) are in tight conjunction. It is time to be reinvented. Take the leap - step back onto Khnum’s wheel and let the Master Potter create a new form a new version of you.
Mercury will transit Capricorn from December 20 through January 8; the Sun transits Capricorn from December 21 through January 19.
