Mercury and the Sun enter Taurus

With four planets in this earth sign (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Uranus), it is now officially Taurus season!

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac and the first earth sign. Taurus manifests the Aries desire “to be” in form. There is a lushness about this sign, expressed through rapid change and wild color, whether experienced via spring in the Northern Hemisphere or autumn in the South. The tide has turned and a wild energy is propelling life forward toward a new version of itself.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Taurus is allied with Hathor, the ultimate Earth Goddess. Hathor is sensual and full of life; she loves everything about the Earth experience. Her invitation to us is to “come on down” – come fully into your body and experience the pleasure and pain of being in form.

Taurus individuals have a centeredness about them that is admirable. These are the mechanics, gardeners, sculptors, dancers, yoga practitioners, massage therapists, and surgeons of our world – people who work with their hands and their bodies. Taurus is about resources and these natives are also found in the world of banking, finance, and investments. In their shadow, they can be stubborn, acquisitive, and retentive. Focused and determined when making a point, these individuals are not inclined to step away from a discussion.

Over the next month, Venus, Mercury, and the Sun will activate the on-going Saturn/Uranus square. This is creative energy, volatile, unpredictable, and potentially dangerous. In your own life, use this time to begin manifesting something that is ready to take form.

Mercury (Thoth) will transit Taurus/Hathor from April 19 to May 3. The Sun (Amun-Ra) will transit Taurus/Hathor from April 19 to May 20.
