February 23, 2020 – Pisces 4°29’, 10:32 am EST.
This magical Pisces/Sothis New Moon is held within a harmonious relationship with Warrior Mars and Uranus, the Great Awakener. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, these two are Set, the Warrior King and Wadjet, the Kundalini Cobra. Creative action and destruction are initiated in unexpected ways.
Held within this harmonious relationship – a trine – are a slew of challenging relationships involving planets in Capricorn and Aries. Here is the story of this time; new energy struggles to escape the restrictions of old, embedded systems. Mars/Set is moving into alignment with the ongoing Jupiter/Pluto/Saturn conjunction. The Great Shift has begun and it is both exhilarating and frightening.
This New Moon window initiates a square – a challenging relationship - between Saturn and Uranus. These two will remain in square to each other through June of this year, with the true power of this transit manifesting in 2021. The best expression of Saturn – Sobek, the Old King – is as a container protecting the formation of new growth. An apt metaphor is an egg, or – for that matter – a womb. Inevitably, the time arrives when the new life becomes too big for its container. The protecting structure becomes oppressive and if the young life does not escape, it will die.
Uranus – Wadjet, the Kundalini cobra – provides the eruption that is necessary to release this fledgling from its protective shell. This is a seedling bursting out of its case, a chick pecking through the egg, a baby emerging from the womb. It is a shattering, tumultuous process and necessary for a new construct to take hold. This Pisces New Moon is the harbinger of things to come.
