Pisces New Moon

New Moon at Pisces 12°07’, 12:35 pm EST.

The astrological chart for this New Moon is stark. It is dominated by three tight conjunctions. Conjunctions represent a blending of energies, intensifying and modifying according to the objects involved.

First, a Pisces Sun/Moon conjunction to Jupiter, the principle of expansion. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Jupiter is allied with Horus the New King. Pisces is allied with Sothis, the Greek name for Sirius, brightest star in the night sky. Expansive, spiritually aligned energies are strong, as are the shadow side of these energies – confusion, delusion, and grandiosity.

Second, the conjunction of Venus, Mars, and Pluto in Capricorn. The established order is being destroyed in preparation for the birth of something new. We have long needed creative change, yet the reality of this shift is horrifying. Capricorn is allied with Khnum, who fashions the creatures of Earth on a potter’s wheel. When an adjustment to form is needed, he invites us back on his wheel to dissolve away the old and create something new.

Third, Mercury conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. Sobek, the Old King, is in a dominating relationship with Thoth – our reality construct. Our collective consciousness is dominated by the heavy and oppressive presence of the Old King.

For those of us cast in the role of watchers, we must attune ourselves to the hopeful energies without denying the reality. The old order is being destroyed in a violent way so that something new can be built – and what is to come is not yet here. There is great pain and suffering. We cannot minimize the enormity of this and yet we cannot allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by fear and anxiety. We must hold a higher vision for our beautiful planet and do what we can to bolster that new reality.
