March 18, 2026: New Moon at Pisces 28°27’, 9:23 pm EDT.
In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, the water sign Pisces is allied with Sothis, the Greek name for the star Sirius. The ancient Egyptians believed Sirius was their home; where they had come from and where they would return when their time on Earth was complete. Both the sign Pisces and the archetype Sothis are associated with the concept of planetary service. This is the bodhisattva; the soul who purposefully incarnates on Earth because they wish all to be blessed by their strong connection to Source.
The New Moon conjunction is aligned with the Neptune/Saturn conjunction, waning but still in effect. The desire for spiritual connection is strong but hard to maintain, and ultimately confusing. The shadow side of Pisces derives from the issue of faith. We may believe something to be true – we may feel it strongly in our heart – but belief alone does not create truth.
There is a lot of flow in this New Moon chart. It is dominated by the Easy Trine between the three outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) plus Saturn, with an additional water trine between Jupiter to Mercury/North Node and Mars. There are two squares: Jupiter square to Venus and Pluto square to Ceres. The energy of the warrior is amplified while the generative aspect of the Divine Mother is blocked. It’s a bit of wham, bam, thank you Ma’am and you best get out of the way.
This too shall pass, but not yet. The new emergent energy is vibrant and impulsive, and it will take time to settle down. While we cannot do much about the chaos of the world, we can address the chaos within. This Dark Moon phase - the three nights when the Moon cannot be seen - provides an opportunity for quiet contemplation and connection to Source. Take time to do this in your own world.
