Saturn Enters Aries

In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Saturn is allied with Sobek, The Old King. Sobek is the Crocodile God, associated with fertility, protection, and the Nile River. In Roman myth, Saturn is Father Time. In Greek myth, he is Kronos, the father who was so afraid his children would usurp his power, he swallowed them whole. In a modern interpretation, this is our reptilian brain that is focused on survival. This part of our psyche views change as a threat that is best avoided.
Another take on Saturn is as a container for new life; the casing of the seed, the shell of the egg, the womb that is home for the growing fetus. This perspective is particularly apt for Saturn in Aries – first sign of the zodiac and the beginning of a new phase. Allied with Kephera - The Rising Sun (every day is a new beginning) - Kephera is symbolized by the scarab and associated with the dung beetle who is both mother and father to its young. This desert insect lays and fertilizes its own eggs, then protects them until they hatch.
During the transit of Saturn through Aries, we will feel the unyielding presence of The Old King as he provides a container for new life. Saturn transits are often experienced as oppressive, and his container can feel like a prison. Those born with Saturn in Aries must contend with frustration; they often feel unfinished and incomplete. The feeling of gestation is strong for them, as it will be for all of us over the next 2+ years. A new way is emerging and Saturn/Sobek will stand firm as the protector of the new phase. This is the baby being born, the chick breaking out of the egg, the seed cracking the casing. The passage of time (Saturn is the god of time) is required in order to reveal the true essence of the new.
Saturn/Sobek will be in Aries from February 13, 2026, to April 12, 2028.
