Sun in Taurus

The earth sign Taurus grounds Aries life force in physical form. This is the sign of the body; these are the dancers, athletes, massage therapists and yoga practitioners, and gardeners of our world. These individuals use their bodies as expression and as a vehicle for pleasure.

Hathor is among the most ancient of the Egyptian neteru and can be recognized in the universal archetype of the Great Goddess, the seminal expression of the feminine aspect of the divine. Hathor’s stories date back to the beginning of Egyptian civilization.

In Hathor’s temples the feminine mysteries were ritualized. Festivals featuring music, dancing, drinking and sensuality, including sexual rituals celebrating fertility, were frequent. In her temples, Hathor was depicted as a sensual woman with the ears of a cow, her totem. Through the ages, the name Hathor has come to be associated with luxurious pleasure and a deep appreciation of the generative process.
