Uranus Stationary

Uranus, the Great Awakener, is a powerful catalyst for change. In traditional astrology, Uranus represents sudden, unexpected, and sometimes catastrophic events that inevitably lead to transformation. In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Uranus is allied with Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Goddess. Wadjet breaks though blocks restricting the free flow of life force energy, thereby giving birth to the creative expression of new life.

Uranus/Wadjet is the force that cracks the shell of the egg so that the young chick can emerge into an amazing new world. Stations of Uranus describe a time when the pressure is building and the protective container – the status quo - is ready to shatter. In the tarot, this is The Tower card. An earthquake is building and the pressure must be released. In order for this to happen, the container that has been holding this vulnerable new life – keeping it safe - must be destroyed.

Uranus has been strong in our collective psyche for the last two years. This station is particularly important as Uranus moves into its fourth and final third-quarter square with Saturn – Sobek, The Old King. Wadjet strains against the Old King who struggles to hold her back. She fights against him with her exuberant energy - something has to give. Saturn/Sobek is very strong but this new energy – the essence of life – is even stronger. Yet the outcome is not preordained. Whenever Uranus/Wadjet comes to the fore, expect the unexpected.

Uranus/Wadjet turns retrograde on August 24 at 9:54 am EDT at Taurus 18°55’, in an alignment with the North Node and a 3° square to Saturn/Sobek. Uranus and Saturn will remain in a dynamic square for the next three months. The dance of Wadjet will remain strong in our collective experience.
