Virgo Full Moon

March 18, 2022: Full Moon at Virgo 27°40’, 3:18 am EDT.

Moon in earthy Virgo, in stark contrast to Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune and the Sun lined up in watery Pisces. Virgo and Pisces are both motivated by service, and their style is very different. Virgo focuses on the practical details while Pisces embodies a spiritual approach.

This Full Moon is marked by the increasing influence of a Jupiter/Neptune conjunction, exact on April 12. Before Neptune was discovered in 1846, rulership of Pisces was assigned to Jupiter. While Neptune - associated with higher spirituality and cosmic consciousness - is ultimately the better fit, expansive Jupiter is comfortable in Pisces. Pisces is defined by its fluidity; this quality is both gift and challenge. Pisces needs the objectivity of its opposite – Virgo – to bring grounded energy into its field.

This Full Moon arrives at a very challenging time. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has propelled the world into an examination of collective values. We are also affected by the approaching conjunction of Mars and Venus to Saturn in Aquarius. This conjunction can be described as the synthesis of values and action into a cohesive force. The outpicturing of this fusion can range from an expression of shared planetary values to a manifestation of oppressive authoritarian force.

In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Virgo is allied with Nekhbet, the Crone Priestess. Sothis is the Blue Star Sirius. Cosmic energy channeled through the grounded wisdom of the Divine Feminine. This Virgo Full Moon window can provide energetic clarity during a deeply emotional time. Bear witness to the suffering of others without being taken down by that which you cannot change. Connect with your deep desire to be of service and do what is yours to do.
