Virgo New Moon and Uranus Retrograde
The first Moon cycle since our exit from the Eclipse Portal begins in Virgo. The most notable transit of this New Moon involves a station of Uranus, the Great Awakener.
Uranus has been prominent in recent weeks, forming a T-Square with the Lunar Eclipse (August 27/28), then slowing to station. When a planet is stationary, it’s influence is strong. When Uranus is strong, expect the unexpected.
Uranus is associated with sudden and unpredictable events. These events are neither good nor bad. They are, however, inherently life-changing; an accident, an eruption, a chance meeting that changes life forever.
The planet Uranus was discovered in 1781. One of the names suggested for this new planet was Prometheus. Prometheus was a Titan, part of the first pantheon of Greek gods. Prometheus gifted humanity with fire, an act which earned him a horrendous punishment. He was condemned to have his liver torn out of his immortal body every day by an eagle. The changes wrought for humanity by his gift were monumental.
While the myth of Prometheus has resonance with the energy of the new planet, Uranus became its designated name. In Greek myth, Uranus is the chaos out of which our reality emerged. Out of chaos, new life emerged.
In the Egyptian pantheon, Uranus is allied with Wadjet, the Cobra Kundalini Goddess. Wadjet works her way up our spine, breaking through blocks to the free flow of life force energy. The bite of Wadjet can kill us, and if we survive, we are changed forever.
During this Dark Moon, call in the transforming presence of Wadjet. Allow your old shell to be shattered so that you might become someone other than who you have been.
